Transforming a Single-Family Community with Fiber Internet

Transforming a Single-Family Community with Fiber Internet

Introduction

Vitalis Smart Communities has successfully executed a joint technology procurement for two residential townhouse communities, Moss Park Commons (112 units) and Trails at Moss Park (82 units), located in the Orlando, Florida metro area. Vitalis secured high-speed fiber internet under a community-wide bulk agreement, replacing outdated infrastructure while simultaneously reducing costs to residents.

Prior to hiring Vitalis, both communities relied on aging coaxial networks and paid over $100 per month through individual retail contracts, often experiencing outages and inadequate customer support. Recognizing these inefficiencies, Vitalis led a formal Request for Proposal (RFP) process, combining both communities into a single bid package to leverage scale and increase negotiating power.

The transaction resulted in a multi-year bulk service agreement with Blue Stream Fiber, delivering fiber-to-the-home (FTTH) infrastructure and significantly enhanced internet speeds at a fraction of the previous cost. The deal also includes improved customer support and future-ready network capabilities.

“The residents of both communities wanted faster speeds, future-proof technology, and more competitive pricing,” said Maz Khan, President of Vitalis Smart Communities. “Equally important was the need for reliable service and responsive support. We guided the HOA boards through education sessions explaining the benefits and trade-offs of bulk agreements compared to traditional retail models.”

Situated in a rapidly expanding submarket of Orlando, both Moss Park Commons and Trails at Moss Park are now equipped with robust digital infrastructure, aligning with regional trends toward smart, connected communities.

“This project reflects our mission at Vitalis: empowering communities to unlock technology solutions that enhance value, reliability, and resident satisfaction,” Khan added.

Vitalis Smart Communities continues to help property owners, boards, and developers nationwide navigate complex technology decisions, secure competitive vendor agreements, and future-proof their communities.
